READING A CHECK

Line A shows the account holder's name.
On this sample check, Tracy Smith is the account holder.
Line B is used for the payee's name.
If you are writing a check to the electric company, then the electric company is the payee.
Line C shows the name of the bank.
On this sample check, the bank name is Bank of Imagination, located in Fullerton, California.
Line D is the memo line.
On this line, a person can write a note or an account number of a bill to be paid.
Line E is the international bank number.
This number is written on deposit slips.
Line F is used for the date of the check.
It's important to write the date when writing a check.
Line G is for writing the dollar amount in words.
For example, "Fifty-nine and 64/100s".
Line H is for the signature of the account holder.
On this sample check, only Tracy Smith may sign the check.
Line I is the bank account number.
On this sample check, the account number is 123-456-7.
Line J is the check number.
On this sample check, the check number is 0301.
Line K is for writing the dollar amount in numbers.
For example, "$52.64"
