To knock up (in the negative sense)
Ex: She knocked up by her boyfriend
Synonyms: To become pregnant To get pregnant gone (she is four months pregnant/gone, to be seven months gone) To be expecting (she is expecting her first child)
Idiot box = television
Ex: I wasted my whole night in front of the idiot box
Synonyms Televisore: boob tube to make a boob = fare una fesseria
Yap: mouth Shut your yap! talk aimlessly chiacchierata / chiacchiere
Blow off stream
Synonyms Sfogarsi: to vent / to give vent to To give vent to one’s anger/one’s resentment (sfogare la rabbia / il risentimento) take it out (prendersela) He always takes it out on his secretary (se la prende sempre sulla segretaria)
To be up for grabs it means "ready to be taken" and "freely available".
